Autumn 2020 News Updates

October 23 was a special day at the WFN Community Garden as we turned over the keys to the new garden shed (left photo below) and celebrated the successful completion of the Fortis ReNew program with the students! Although the day was unseasonably cold and snowy, it did not dampen the spirits of all the people who attended the small celebration. All the Renew students received their completion certificate as well as their other certificates earned during the 5-week program. Paul Courtoreille had the great honour of turning the keys over to the community garden coordinator and presenting the two Peter Olsen Memorial Awards to Selina Joe and Jordan Lindley. The garden shed will be a legacy left behind as a reminder of all the hard workand dedication from this year’s Renew participants.

On behalf of WIBCO Construction, we wish all the graduates from the program much success and all the best in their future endeavours!

A special thanks to OTDC and WFN for initiating this great program.

WIBCO is in the process of completing an exterior renovation project for a WFN member. The work included the removal and replacement of the deteriorating wood structure, installation of a concrete patio, wood retaining walls, vinyl decking, glass railing and a new set of wood stairs leading to the backyard (right photo below).

We are currently building a 1,000sf shop for a customer in Lake Country and plan to have substantial completion by January2021. WIBCO has also secured the contract for the construction of a small cold storage building for a repeat customer in Glenrosa.
